On the South Coast of Cornwall, sheep graze peacefully overlooking the South Cornish sea. Inspired by the natural textures these separate breeds have to offer, we decided to reimagine our Soft as Sea Mist yarn and bring the luster and softness of Romney lambs together with the creamy Dorsets. This is where Steve’s pure Dorset sheep and Robin’s pure Romney lambs come in. Steve has been farming sheep for the past 10 years, caring for them with as much dedication as we do for our own flock. Robin, a fourth-generation farmer on his family’s farm near Mevagissey, shares the same passion. Each British breed's fiber offers its own unique character, making it ideal for different uses. Both Romney and Dorset wool, like Wensleydale, are kemp-free and boast a voluminous, soft texture, making them perfect for garments worn close to the skin—ideal for those cozy winter jumpers!
